How did you get involved with the American Marketing Association?
I was a member of my collegiate chapter in undergrad, but didn’t have the opportunity in my grad program, so I thought why not join the local chapter? Funny thing is, I reached out to our PREVIOUS Member of the Month to ask about her experience, and she got me connected to the Art of Marketing: The Future is WOW! Committee! From there the whole experience blossomed and I ended up joining the board!
As an active member in the San Diego AMA Chapter, what you are up to, and why it is important to you?
Long story short, I want to connect with other marketers locally. I work at a historically PR-focused agency and want more colleagues to bounce ideas with. The industry is always changing and one person can’t learn it all, but when people come together, you get the best of all worlds! Also, I just love the creativity of marketing and wanted to geek out!
Tell us about your professional life—what’s your 9-5?
Organized chaos! Just kidding, I get to work with some of the best not-for-profits and corporations with philanthropic arms, so work is really not “work.” 💜 My day-to-day is infusing my knowledge of digital marketing into my team’s pr efforts and elevating the great work our clients are doing in the community! My favorite parts of the job are; social media, video, and photography!
Naturally, we love that you’re a social media maven. Any top tip you can share when it comes to the socials?
Follow the people, products, or industries you want to exude! You’ll be able to stay up with the trends and gain a 10,000-foot view of what your targeted audience is responding to.
Share one thing on your bucket list you are looking forward to checking off.
Especially in this heat, I CANNOT wait to plan a trip to see the Northern Lights!
What’s your fave San Diego weekend wind down?
Not sure you’d call this a “wind down” but I love going off-roading in the desert or mountains in my Jeep Wrangler!
We hear you have an adorable four-legged cutie—we must know more.
My adorable foster fail pup named, Coco is one of those clichés where I really wonder who saved who! You’d never guess it but she’s a German Shepherd, Husky, and Chihuahua mix! She is definitely the most expensive pet I’ve owned because I wanted to give her the life she deserved. Well, now the little princess struts around in her pearls, and probably has more toys and dog beds than most women own shoes!
