San Diego, CA — Author and speaker Stan Phelps will keynote the 19th Annual Cause Conference, themed Maximizing Your Impact through the Power of Purpose, on September 8, 2017, at the University of California, San Diego’s Price Center (9500 Gilman Drive, La Jolla, CA). Phelps inspires organizations and brands to be remarkable, showing them how to stand out in ways that customers and employees can’t help but talk about. His informative keynotes and workshops focus on the impact of purpose and technology in business, the value of customer experience as a competitive differentiator and the role of employee engagement in building a strong corporate culture.
The event, co-hosted by the San Diego Chapter of the American Marketing Association (AMA San Diego), Conscious Capitalism San Diego, and San Diego Nonprofit Association, serves as the West Coast’s premier event for entrepreneurs, marketers, and business leaders of purpose-driven organizations. The conference—which also includes collaborative partnership development and networking opportunities—will take place on Friday, September 8th from 7:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. The event is followed by a cocktail reception from 4:30 p.m. – 6:00 p.m.

According to Phelps, putting purpose first benefits employees, shareholders and customers. Purpose-driven companies are dedicated to a purpose that drives employee engagement, fuels the bottom line, and makes an impact on the lives of those it serves. It is his contention that, “By 2020 purpose will be the main driver of business, not corporate filing status. Companies will either be seen as ‘for purpose’ or ‘not for purpose.’”
