Shelley Callahan 

Marketing Director, Mitchell

Shelley Callahan is the Marketing Director for Pharmacy Solutions at Mitchell International. Prior to Mitchell, Callahan was the VP Marketing for Advanced Particle Therapy, a proton therapy development company for cancer treatment centers. For nearly twenty years, Callahan has been helping companies and clients achieve their business goals through branding, digital and traditional marketing. Her expertise extends to a variety of verticals including healthcare, biotech, financial services and sports. Callahan has her MBA from the University of San Diego where she is also an adjunct professor. She is a frequent guest speaker in the community and is the President of the Leadership Council of the San Diego American Cancer Society as well as Past-President of the San Diego American Marketing Association.

Cherry Park

Sr. Director, Qualcomm

Cherry Park is senior director of marketing for Qualcomm Technologies, Inc.  As head of digital and strategic planning and operations for the global marketing organization, Cherry is responsible for the oversight and management of Qualcomm’s digital strategy, as well as driving operational strategy and planning for the global marketing teams.

With more than two decades of experience building Qualcomm’s online presence, Cherry and her team have led several high-profile initiatives, including the launch of Qualcomm’s award-winning “mobile-first” web platform in August 2014.  During her tenure at Qualcomm, Cherry has created and led several new functions within the marketing organization, including brand and social media.

Cherry holds a bachelor’s degree in communications studies from the University of California, Los Angeles and a master’s degree in business administration from the UCLA Anderson School of Management.  She currently serves on the Board of Directors of the San Diego Bowl Games Association.

Erika DiProfio

Director of Marketing, Omni La Costa Resort & Spa

Erika DiProfio has been spreading brand love since before she realized there was a formal term for it. She believes the best marketing comes from authentic interactions IRL and in the digital space among people who are passionate about a product, service or company.

Erika currently helps people share their love for Omni La Costa Resort & Spa in Carlsbad and the Omni Hotels & Resorts brand. Prior to Omni La Costa, Erika led the marketing strategy for the buzzworthy SoCal restaurant start-up Slater’s 50/50 and helped grow the brand from one location to seven locations and launched its sister brand in San Diego.
Since graduating from San Diego State University in 2000, she has worked with The San Diego Museum of Art, Tiffany & Co., W Hotels, Dave & Busters, King’s Fish House, Milton’s Bread Company and Garden Fresh Restaurants. Erika loves teaching marketing and digital strategy at SDSU and Cal State San Marcos and absolutely adores spending time with her husband and two daughters (age 7 and 9).

Bennett Peji

Senior Director, Marketing and Community Affairs, Jacobs Center for Neighborhood Innovation

Bennett Peji is Senior Director at the Jacobs Center for Neighborhood Innovation located in San Diego, California, USA. He directs the local economy initiative, branding, marketing, community affairs and communications work. He is also an international brand consultant, designer and frequent speaker on community-centered design. Peji serves on the boards of California Humanities, the University of San Diego Center for Peace and Commerce, and the La Jolla Playhouse, where he chairs the Public Leadership Council. He served as a Commissioner of Arts & Culture for the City of San Diego 2003-2012, President of the Filipino-American Chamber of Commerce, Chairman of the Asian Business Association, and AIGA national board member. He is a co-founder of the AIGA Center for Cross-cultural Design. Peji has received lifetime achievement awards from AIGA San Diego and SDX (the San Diego Ad Club), and over 200 marketing, design, business and community awards.

Kim Tucker

VP Marketing, PatientSafe Solutions

Kim Tucker has more than 15 years of marketing experience in healthcare, healthcare IT and SaaS companies including United HealthGroup, OptumHealth and Vital Images (Toshiba). She joined PatientSafe from BlueHornet (now MAPP) an enterprise SaaS – based digital marketing company where she leads the Marketing team in driving new customer acquisitions.

Kim started her marketing career at a healthcare startup delivering virtual GPO solutions to physician offices, followed by the healthcare supply chain e-commerce provider HealthNexis.  Kim earned her Bachelor’s degree in Communication Arts from the University of WI at Madison.

More than 100 San Diego marketing luminaries packed Farmer and the Seahorse in Torrey Pines to hear five participants in our thought-leading study discuss the State of Marketing from a San Diego perspective. Topics of special focus included the importance of the customer experience, the progress of digital transformation, the role of social media, and enabling tools and technologies.
