8th Annual AMA San Diego Art of Marketing Conference Planned for April 5

Full-day event will draw hundreds of integrated marketing professionals from across the region

SAN DIEGO, Calif. (January 29, 2019) – The American Marketing Association San Diego chapter presents Challenge+Change, the 2019 Art of Marketing Conference happening April 5 at the San Diego Marriott Del Mar. This action-packed day features keynote speakers Cheryl Goodman, Head of Corporate Communications at Sony North America; Michael Farrington, Vice President of Global Marketing at NuVasive; and Seth Odell, Vice Chancellor of Marketing for the National University System.

2019 Art of Marketing Chair Bill Winn said, “Our theme, Challenge+Change, reflects the rapid transformation of marketing brought on by the digital revolution and the pace of life in general today, but also encourages marketers to question the status quo, to confront conventional wisdom, and adjust course or even start over to achieve better results.”

With relatable stories and actionable insights, conference goers can expect plenty of new tools and techniques to face change head on. Four topical tracks focus on Brand, Digital, Leadership, and Innovation, with real-world breakout sessions to inspire and motivate even the most seasoned marketing professionals. Other speakers and panelists include Adam Fox, Director of Digital Experience and Media, Qdoba; Gregg Witt, Chief Strategy Officer, Engage Youth Co.; Erika DiProfio, Director of Marketing, Omni La Costa Resort and Spa; and Richard Cran, EVP, Managing Director, The Collective.

“One of our top priorities this year was to strike a balance in our speakers between enterprise thought leaders and agency innovators. The agenda we’ve designed very much reflects this goal as it was important to us to hear how major San Diego brands are tackling today’s marketing challenges while also understanding how agile and creative agency experts are pushing the envelope,” said Winn.

This year’s conference also features what the chapter calls LOUDtables — think speed dating for marketing challenges. At least 15 marketing experts will lead 15-minute roundtables where attendees pose their thorniest marketing questions, and then fellow professionals tease out answers.

“Art of Marketing has always been about three things for attendees: gaining marketing knowledge, building connections, and having fun,” Winn said. “We’ve kept these objectives very much top of mind in developing this year’s event, with rich programming and both structured and free time for marketing leaders to talk shop.”

New Art of  Marketing website

The chapter is also pleased to announce a new online experience to the conference. The new Art of Marketing website reflects the energy, learning environment and networking opportunity of the event.
